  • Off Center presents: The 10% Market Share: Understanding the INs and OUTs of Queer Marketing Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 7:30PM Public invited to attend.  NEW YORK, NEW YORK—October 24, 2002—On Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 7:30pm, Off Center will present The 10% Market Share: Understanding the INs and OUTs of Queer Marketing. This moderated forum will attempt to answer some of the many questions the LGBT community has about the politics of queer marketing. As the importance of the LGBT consumer in the marketplace continues to grow, how are we affected by the initiatives set forth by big business in our community? Can we empower ourselves through the consumption of products targeted to our sexual orientation?**

  • Woman of color: Photography Book:  SHEdriven, a lesbian photographer in Los Angeles looking for 20-30 African American woman/couples to interview and photograph 20-30, to share their experiences, views, and expressions. The mission of the book is to open minds and squash stereotypes of negative views of "Lesbianism" in the black community. SHEdriven will photograph Black and White images of each woman, portraying each individual style and vibe as a couple or single woman.**

  • ZAMI Basketball Tournament:  Hopefully by now, many of you are aware that ZAMI, Fourth Tuesday, Atlanta Lesbian Cancer Initiative and the Atlanta Feminist Women Chorus will be holding a basketball tournament on April 5th at the Decatur Rec Center.  We are in need of a name for the tournament and thought we would ask for your suggestions. **

  • PRESS RELEASE -- 3/05/03 -- Kennesaw State GLSA Advisory Board to host LBGT Student Organization Summit.  The Kennesaw State University Gay-Lesbian-Straight Alliance and Advisory Board is hosting "The Courage to Lead: An LBGT Student Organization Summit" on Saturday, April 26, from 1:00-6:00pm. Student, faculty, and parent participants in high school and college LBGT organizations may attend free of charge. Registration for the event will begin at 12:00pm in the Carmichael Student Center at KSU (pre-registration is strongly encouraged). The event will be followed by a reception for participants sponsored by The Atlanta Pride Committee, Inc.**

  • Join Triangle Foundation,GLSEN and Project YES for the Michigan Safe Schools' Summit Saturday, March 22, 2003 Hosted at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  Student organizers, student clubs, GLSEN chapters, LGBT youth groups, PFLAG chapters and others interested in safe schools are invited to join us for this day-long event of information sharing, skill building and networking.**

  • WOMEN MAKE MOVIES MEDIA WORKSHOP SERIES -- Women Make Movies is excited to offer our Spring Media Workshop Series from March through June. The workshops have panels with guests from the Film Forum, the MacArthur Foundation, the Sundance Documentary Fund, Zeitgeist Films, among other film and video funders. **

  • The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund has applications available for student activists who are building the progressive movement and will be enrolled in school during the 2003-04 academic year. The following announcement should answer any questions about the Fund, our scholarships, the students we support, and the process for applying for a grant.   • The Black Lesbian Elder Speak Project -- Voices missing from the last Zuna Conferences were those who are over 55 years of age. This will not occur at this year’s ZUNA Institute National Conference which is scheduled for April 11-13th, 2003 in Los Angeles, California. Zuna Institute in partnership with Progressive Research & Training for Action and The Lesbian Health Research Center University California San Francisco will conduct The Black Lesbian Elder Speak Project.

  • Groundbreaking Documentary On African-American Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Coming Out Experiences Sends Out Call For Participants -- Los Angeles, CA ( Dec. 06, 2002) Barely Breaking Even Productions, a collaboration between journalist and publicist Jasmyne Cannick and long time activist and writer Charlotte M. Young, are seeking participants for a full length documentary film exploring coming out stories of African-American gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

    I am in the process of booking a 50-city comedy tour from April 2003 to November 2003 to celebrate my 20 years of performing stand-up. Desire is a film that will examine in depth what butch/femme identity and butch/femme dynamics mean to us now in the new millenium. We want the voices of butch and femme identified lesbians, bisexuals and FTMs from all age, racial, cultural and class backgrounds to be included. We are also looking for actors. Women Make Movies is excited to offer our Spring Media Workshop Series from March through June. The workshops have panels with guests from the Film Forum, the MacArthur Foundation, the Sundance Documentary Fund, Zeitgeist Films, among other film and video funders. ZAMI Basketball Tournament

Greetings All,

Hopefully by now, many of you are aware that ZAMI, Fourth Tuesday, Atlanta Lesbian Cancer Initiative and the Atlanta Feminist Women Chorus will be holding a basketball tournament on April 5th at the Decatur Rec Center.

We are in need of a name for the tournament and thought we would ask for your suggestions. Please note that if we choose your name, we will give you a tee shirt from each team as a grand prize and admission for two to the tournament.
