NWSA's annual conference provides an opportunity for teachers, students, scholars, activists, and community and cultural workers to share research findings, strategies, and programmatic concerns, for effecting social change.
Events include pre-conferences for the Program Adminstration and Development Committee, and the Women's Center Committee; a film series, a writers series; and a large book exhibit featuring publishers, artists, videographers and other vendors. Special tours are also arranged in the area for conference goers to enjoy. Join us for this valuable and enjoyable annual event, and become a member of the ONLY professional association exclusively dedicated to the advancement of Women’s Studies.
As Women’s Studies programs and departments and women’s centers across the United States have multiplied, grown and strengthened, NWSA continues to provide services critical to the practice of Women’s Studies.
The 27th annual conference begins June 15-18 in Oakland, CA. For more information, visit their website at: http://www.nwsaconference.org/ About Rebecca Walker: Rebecca Walker is a best-selling author, an acclaimed speaker and teacher, and an award-winning visionary and activist in the fields of intergenerational feminism, enlightened masculinity, and transformational human awareness. When she was just twenty-five, Time Magazine named her one of the fifty most influential future leaders of America—an award which has since been followed by many others, including the Women Who Could Be President Award from the League of Women Voters, the Champion of Choice Award from CARAL, and the Women of Distinction Award from the American Association of University Women.
